Ysgol Gymraeg Dewi Sant
Welcome to Ysgol Gymraeg Dewi Sant!
Ysgol Gynradd Gymraeg Dewi Sant is a Welsh primary school located in the town of Llantwit Major, Vale of Glamorgan. We provide bilingual education for the children of the town and the surrounding area.
The school opened in September 2011 and we have now laid a solid foundation for the future as the school grows. Since September 2015 we have settled in our new school with over 200 children attending our school. On the school site is Cylch Meithrin Llanilltud Fawr which has settled into its new building since March 2022.
Our motto "Tyfu a Llwyddo Gyda'n Gilydd" (Grow and Succeed Together) emphasizes the element of collaboration and this is central to the school's ethos and philosophy. It is therefore absolutely important that we communicate regularly and effectively together for the benefit of our children. From time to time you may have concerns or questions, so don't be afraid to contact us. In the meantime, I hope you make regular use of the website to get the latest information and to be proud of the school's activities and successes.
School Vision
At Ysgol Gymraeg Dewi Sant our vision and values are a solid foundation for the teaching and experiences we offer our learners.
We have happy, ambitious and confident learners within a safe and supportive environment. We want to ensure that every child feels valued and loved.
We ensure experiences and an atmosphere where our pupils learn and grow, develop their curiosity and independence.
We will provide a broad, balanced and rich curriculum. This will enable our pupils to be independent, confident and capable learners who are ready to live a full life. Our intention is to secure skills and opportunities in order to prepare our pupils to be lifelong learners.
We develop caring learners who show respect and empathy for others and the world around them. We celebrate our Welshness and take pride in our language, history and culture.
